RIP … Former SOiL Guitarist Shaun Glass DEAD at 57

July 1st 2026 — Sad news from the rock and metal community as we report that Shaun Glass has passed away.

Reports online have noted that Glass suffered a stroke late last week.

Glass was an original member of Broken Hope but later co-founded SOiL in 1997… the band found success with their single “Halo” off their major label debut “Scars” released in 2001.

The SOiL “Scars” release was certified Silver by theBPI (British Phonographic Industry) and was the band’s biggest commericial success.

Glass was a well known and respected member of the Chicago based metal community for over 40 years and put plenty of work in… writing, recording and on the road… Glass also contributed on both guitar and bass to the various projects over his career.

Glass went onto to play in multitude of groups including; Broken Hope (1994-1998, 2012-2014), SOiL (1997-2007), Sindrome (1986-1993), The Bloodline (2013-2017), Repentance (2018-2026), Dirge Within (2007-2013, 2017-2018) and his earliest project as a teenager Terminal Death (1984-?).

Glass clearly impacted a lot of fans and fellow musicians as social media is being flooded by tributes to the fallen musician.
