RIP … Joey C. Jones of Sweet Savage loses Cancer battle

Metal SludgeRock singer Joey C. Jones has died.

Jones, 59, lost his fight with cancer after battling the disease for a number of years.

Jones, born Bobby Joe Crabtree passed-away earlier today surrounded by family and friends.

Jones grew up in Athens Ohio and was best known as the singer and front-man of Sweet Savage during the mid 1980’s.

Sweet Savage issued their debut E.P. in 1985 and it hit #1 on the Kerrang Magazine U.K. import chart.

Jones also fronted Shock Tu, Pal Joey, Needle Park, Crabtree and Joey C. Jones and The Gloryhounds.

Joey C. Jones was the epitome of a rock n’ roll front-man who left his mark in Texas, Hollywood, his native Ohio and on the countless stages he performed on for 40+ years.

We send our heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends.
