June 22nd 2026 — Breaking News in the Entertainment World as we report on the sad passing of music mogul CLIVE DAVIS who died today at 94.
It’s safe to say that DAVIS was one of the most important industry figures in all of entertainment for most of our lives with a career that started in the 1960’s.
DAVIS was instrumental in signing and working with countless pop, rock and metal bands who have been part of our youth right up through adult life.
A few notable bands below that DAVIS signed and was working with includes…
Aerosmith: Signed to CBS/Columbia Records for $125,000 in August 1972 after Davis was captivated by a showcase at Max’s Kansas City in New York.
Ministry: Signed to Arista Records in the early 1980s, where they released their synth-pop/industrial debut With Sympathy before eventually shifting into heavier metal sounds
Santana: Brought to global prominence by Davis at Columbia Records and famously reunited with Davis decades later for their multi-Grammy-winning, chart-topping 1999 album Supernatural.
DAVIS also signed Babylon A.D. and Enuff Z’Nuff along the way in addition to Air Supply, The Kinks and The Grateful Dead.

Clive Davis — the legendary music mogul who helped launch the careers of icons like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Kelly Clarkson, and more — is dead … TMZ has learned.
Clive died Monday at his home in New York City … as the New York Times first reported.
The cause of death is unclear … but as we reported, there were concerns about his health just weeks ago when he was hospitalized in New York with an upper respiratory infection. He was later discharged on June 4 and returned home … with a rep telling TMZ he was in good spirits and recovering.
Over a career spanning more than six decades, Clive shaped the sound of popular music from the executive suite, earning a reputation as a kingmaker whose ear for talent changed the industry forever.
For the young kids out there … Clive Davis was a HUGE deal in the biz. On top of discovering Whitney, he founded Bad Boy Records with Sean Combs. He signed, developed, or championed many of the biggest names in music — including Alicia Keys, Janis Joplin, Barry Manilow, Bruce Springsteen, and countless others.
