Metal Sludge — Well that went from zero to crazy and fast.

Last week Jason Newsted told a Florida news outlet about his 2021 which involved him being in talks with Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth about a perspective Van Halen tour that also featured guitarist Joe Satriani.

Now Satriani himself has answered the million-dollar question and it seems that this was in-fact in the works.

Satriani also mentioned that they were all sworn to secrecy and that he was shocked that Newsted talked about it publicly.

Now the Van Halen News Desk has shared an exclusive quote and input from David Lee Roth himself.

It seems that the VHND reached out to Roth and asked for some clarity.

In typical Dave fashion, he replied and it seems to be kind of confirming it, kind of making fun of it, and in some ways his statement throws a little shade at Sammy Hagar.

The VHND writes: “The Van Halen News Desk reached out David Lee Roth about the new rumors. We’ve got an exclusive quote from him here:

“IN MY MIND ‘VAN HALEN 4K’, IN THE AGE OF COVID IS GOING TO REQUIRE TWO OF IS FOR EVERY POSITION. SATRIANI AND LUKATHER, ANTHONY AND NEWSTED, AL OR TOMMY LEE, PROBABLY THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD DO MY JOB WOULD BE PINK..” — David Lee Roth

Well it’s Dave so this makes perfect sense, #not.

At this stage it’s a wait and see for all of us who are not named Van Halen, Roth, Anthony and we’d like to believe Hagar and maybe even Pink too.

The real question is, what will Wolfgang say about all of this?
