Metal Sludge — The annual M3 Music Festival was held over the weekend for the 15th year, and once again the multi-day festival proved to be a success.
However, there was 1 small casualty that has come to light.
Sources from the road have informed Metal Sludge that Night Ranger guitarist Keri Kelli suffered a broken ankle on Sunday during their set.
The word is that Kelli tripped on stage and while he initially thought it was just a bad sprain, it’s now confirmed his ankle is in fact broken.
Metal Sludge reached out to Kelli directly and he has confirmed the unfortunate news.
“Ya man, I tripped (on stage)… but I made it through the show somehow” says Kelli.
The guitarist tells Metal Sludge that he tripped on a stair truss (riser) during the show that was in front of the band’s back-line.
Kelli, 52 is the baby of the band and has been playing with Night Ranger since 2014.
Night Ranger still features 3/5 of their classic lineup with Jack Blades (bass and vocals), Brad Gillis (lead guitars) and Kelly Keagy (drums and vocals).
In related news, Kelli informed us about an event at the Las Vegas based ‘Aces & Ales Gastropub‘ on May 19th that will feature legendary Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony.
