Meet Robbie Styles and Emily Storms – also known as Styles & Storms – an actual couple in real life who also make music together and share a similar love of fashion and life-style.
Styles & Storms could be described as a modern-day Sonny & Cher with a lot more pizazz in the way of their overall presentation… and perhaps a cover of “I Got You Babe” glammed up and sped up should be their next move?
The pair have been a couple for most of the current millennium, but they have roots that date back to the 1990’s when Styles was trapsing around Hollywood with the Peppermint Creeps and Storms was slinging it on stage with Detroit based Filmore Slim.
Now the duo has come together literally and figuratively to form S&S and have just released their debut single “Rumor” featuring former Peppermint Creeps bassist Eddie Electra.
Styles, Storms and Electra have recorded a cover of “Rumor” which was an underground favorite from Hollywood rockers Heart Throb Mob.
HTM were part of the over-the-top glam scene on the Sunset Strip before Seattle rained on their 213 parade, and much-like the Peppermint Creeps, HTM too have their fair share of cult-like followers.
Now, decades removed from the glory days of Hollywood’s most famous bloulevard, Styles & Storms have released a video for the “Rumor” track as well, which has a comparable look and sound to what Danish pop-rockers AQUA did with their international mega smash “Barbie Girl”.
Also… S&S have some other fun stuff… like a full blown make-up tutorial on YouTube where you can follow Storms’ tips on how to dress like a Peppermint Creep for Halloween.
Now, the ten-dollar question is… when will Styles & Storms release “I Got You Babe” and will Electra make an appearance once again?
