Record Demand for Dangerous Toys

Within 72 hours of its September 22 announcement, Dangerous Toys: The Definitive Edition — the deluxe reissue of the RIAA Gold-certified 1989 debut from Austin, Texas hard rock legends Dangerous Toys — had sold out of every vinyl and cassette edition. The Picture Disc LP and 2xCassette were gone in under 24 hours. All four 2xLP color variants followed within three days.

“We had no idea what to expect with The Definitive Edition of our first record. The fans have been rabid! The first pressing damn near sold out in just a few days. With the second pressings we tried to make them a little different from the first with the gatefold layout and poster. I think the fans will dig it with all the different options for colors. I think fans are gonna be pretty excited when we do it all over again next year with Hellacious Acres. That record never even came out on vinyl in the United States!” — Jason McMaster, Dangerous Toys

Now Dangerous Toys and Kenyon Records are answering that demand with a new wave of releases: signed exclusives and an all-new Christmas collection through a partnership with TalkShopLive, a Double Picture Disc available exclusively at the Kenyon Records webstore, four new hand-numbered vinyl variants in stores nationwide, and a second pressing of the 2xCD. It all kicks off November 11, when frontman Jason McMaster goes live on TalkShopLive. The TalkShopLive exclusives arrive December 14, followed by the new pressings on Friday, December 18, 2026.

About The Definitive Edition

Original producer Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth) returned in 2026 to remaster the 1989 debut from the ground up, with dedicated remasters for vinyl and CD. The bonus Live in ’89 recordings come straight from Jason McMaster’s personal stash of soundboard cassettes — never duplicated and never heard outside the band until now.

Produced by Norman at the legendary Sound City studio and released May 9, 1989, Dangerous Toys delivered MTV Headbangers Ball staples “Teas’n, Pleas’n” and “Scared,” plus fan favorite “Sport’n a Woody.” “Teas’n, Pleas’n” knocked Bon Jovi from #1 on Dial MTV, and the album hit No. 65 on the Billboard 200 on its way to Gold certification. Its cover — Tommy Pons’ leering horror-clown jack-in-the-box, Bill Z. Bub — remains the band’s visual signature.
