Metal Sludge — How much would you pay for a COVID mask?
But not an ordinary plain colored or basic black mask, let’s say it has some yellow stripes in it as well.
Is $20.00 a fair price?
Or would you pay $30, $40, or $50.00 for it?
How about $75.00?
Well, if you like Stryper and want to support their Music and Ministry, that is their asking price for a cotton face mask made of yellow and black cloth.
No logo, no imaging, no embroidery and no print.
Just some black and yellow cloth sewn together in a rectangle.
Stryper has launched their new product and fans are not too happy.
At last check there are over 200 comments on the Michael Sweet Facebook post, and to be fair…while some fans seem to dig these, the overwhelming response is not positive.
Mac Haik writes: “Capitalism will ultimately win the day. If one believes $75 is a fair price for two pieces of cotton fashioned into a mask along with Michael Sweet’s autograph on a COA they will purchase it. If not, they will not purchase it. Value is always subjective. But, based on the reactions that I am seeing, this was a serious misstep, Michael.”
After a few hours of back and forth with various fans, Stryper lead singer, song writer and guitarist Michael Sweet replies with: “SOLD OUT in just 2 hours. Thanks for your support.”
If our math is correct, that means Stryper grossed $3,750.00 in 2 hours from a few yards of yellow and black cotton cloth.
Plus shipping and handling fees of course.
Congrats to Stryper, and their new line of masks.
Now since it was such a hot item, be ready for the next batch, #51 – 100.
Below we have shared several Facebook comments from fans about their new masks.
