Audie Desbrow of Great White

Metal Sludge — In a brand new episode from the 80’s Metal Recycle Bin, their latest interview is with Great White drummer Audie Desbrow.

Desbrow is a classic era member of the band, but his history with the band’s guitarist Mark Kendall and former frontman Jack Russell goes back to the 1970’s.

Desbrow tells 80’s Recycle Bin some gritty dirty details of the band’s history, that includes drugs, drinking, drugs and more drugs.

And we’re not just talking about beer and pot here…

Nope… Desbrow talks about doing Angel Dust with Russell, and while on tour, he and Jack would be the first to go to try and score Crack at 3:00am while in New York City.

The band’s longtime drummer also details some sketchy history with Russell (from Desbrow‘s perspective) regarding Russell‘s run-ins with the law, that also saw the singer do prison time.

There is also some general back story of all the guys playing in rival bands on the various Southern California club circuit.

Once again, 80’s Metal Recycle Bin has put together another great clip that you can watch below.

80’s Metal Recycle Bin in their Youtube description about this episode notes: “Great White was one of the most iconic rock bands of the 80’s. So many great songs that still wind up on all the classic rock radio stations today. We sat down with Great White drummer Audie Desbrow. He’s an amazing story teller who keeps it completely real. In this smart, funny, and very surprising interview we think even the die hard fan will be shocked as to what we learn. Audie leaves it all out on the table. This episode is brought to you by our newest sponsor, Westlake Drum Center!. Enjoy!”
