TUFF live @ the M3 Rock Festival with Billy Morris, Stevie Rachelle & Todd ‘Chase’ Chaisson
TUFF adds Buckcherry bloodline to drum throne and announces fall shows including ’80’s in the Park’ (Florida), ‘Rock N’ Skull’ (Illinois), Ohio & Iowa!
Los Angeles — Hello Florida TUFF is headed to the Sunshine State for the first time in over 2 decades. Thanks to an array of rock events that seem to be catering to the hairband die-hards, Florida is next to bring the headbangers and heart breakers together.
Oklahoma has Rocklahoma, Baltimore has the M3 Rock festival, Ohio is home to Rock on the Range and now Florida gives us 80’s In The Park. This is the sophomore year for the Melbourne based festival and it looks to be growing. Last year was 2 days, this year it’s a full 3 day weekend September 26th, 27th and 28th.
80’s In The Park will feature performances by Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, L.A. Guns, John Waite, Faster Pussycat, Bang Tango, Jack Russell’s Great White and TUFF. But it’s not all metal. 8ITP will also include Missing Persons, Bow Wow Wow and Zebra.
TUFF will also appear at Rock N’ Skull another 3-day festival that hits the heartland November 14th, 15th & 16th in Peoria Illinois. RNS features appearances by Danger Danger, Black N’ Blue, Faster Pussycat, Roxy Blue and TUFF.
The Sunset Strip veteran rock band have recently added Michael Scott Nelson to the drum throne. “Mike is a slammin’ drummer. His hard hitting style is perfect for Tuff. We welcome him aboard” says band founder and bassist Todd “Chase” Chaisson.
Nelson is the younger brother of Keith Nelson – guitarist for platinum rockers Buckcherry.
Nelson says; “I am totally stoked to be playing with Tuff! I’ve been a fan of the band for a while and have got to know Chase (Todd Chaisson) over time. I have great respect for these guys and the decades they have spent building their brand. This is gonna be a blast.”
Fronted by Stevie Rachelle, the band has been a bit more active in recent years appearing at festivals stateside like M3, on the Monsters of Rock Cruise and Waterfest in Wisconsin.
The line-up also features Billy Morris on guitar. Fans of hair metal might remember Morris from his years playing in Warrant, with Jani Lane solo and with Quiet Riot.
TUFF released “What Comes Around Goes Around Again” in 2012. The disc contains re-recorded versions of songs from their 1991 Atlantic Records debut “What Comes Around Goes Around.” The disc features a re-make of their #3 Dial Mtv hit “I Hate Kissing You Goodbye” and the bands metal anthem “Good Guys Wear Black”.
Several name 80’s stars appear on “WCAGAA” including: Stephen Pearcy (Ratt), George Lynch (Dokken), Steve Brown (Trixter), Keri Kelli (Alice Cooper Band), Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) and Jaime St. James (Black N’ Blue).
