QUIET RIOT Announce John Torra as New Lead Singer

Los Angeles, CA — September 21, 2026

QUIET RIOT are proud to announce their new lead singer, John Torra!

The 23-year-old Long Island vocalist stood out among more than 700 submissions following the band’s open call for singers. John sent his audition videos to management and also shared performances online, where they went viral and sparked an incredible response from fans.

“We saw your comments, tags, and messages urging us to bring him on board. But what earned John the gig was his undeniable talent. His videos were outstanding—but when he stepped into the room with us, he blew the doors off our songs. We all heard it: an authentic sound that brings our material to life the way it’s meant to be heard,” says the band’s manager, Regina Banali, Frankie Banali’s widow.

“He may be young, but he’s dedicated and professional. He brings a breath of fresh air that lifts us all, and we couldn’t be more excited about the future with him on lead vocals,” Banali adds. “Please join us in welcoming John Torra to QUIET RIOT!”

Metal Sludge could not be more thrilled for this big news as John Torra was far and away the people’s choice from the start.

Back on July 14th Jizzy Pearl announced on Facebook that he was leaving Quiet Riot.

Later that same day, Quiet Riot released their own statement putting the word out that they were looking for a new singer.

Within 48 hours of the news hitting the internet, droves of hopefuls uploaded and shared their versions of Quiet Riot classics like; “Metal Health (Bang Your Head)” and “Cum On Feel The Noize” among others.

There were countless versions of the band’s songs filling social media feeds but it was evident early that Torra was a force to be reckon with as he was able to duplicate the late Kevin DuBrow’s vocal sound and style.

Torra, 23, is from Long Island New York and fronts the New Jersey based Fire ‘N Ice who have built a local following along with trekking to the West Coast to appear at notable Sunset Strip clubs like the world-famous “Whisky-A-Go-Go” and “Viper Room” in recent years.

But now the DuBrow sound-alike will take his set of skills to front one of the 80’s earliest heavy metal stand-outs in Quiet Riot.

Metal Sludge were on-board from the start with Torra and we could not be happier for the kid from New York and the band as a whole… not forgetting, countless fans across the internet and numerous name musicians and industry veterans all called for Torra to get the gig.

Now it’s set and once again, let’s welcome John Torra to Quiet Riot.
