JANI ADMITS IT
Industry Sources corroborate Bobbie Brown’s claim Jani Lane was Raped!

LOS ANGELES, California — Metal Sludge has been forwarded an audio file of Jani Lane in a 2004 radio interview, where he admits to being raped.

The interview aired on Hollywood’s Monsters of Rock radio show on 92.1 The Wolf (WOHF).

Lane was in town to play a show at “Caeser’s Crystal Palace” in Sandusky, Ohio on April 10th 2004.

Radio personality Hollywood Ted “Hollywood” Heckman conducted the interview.

As the interview starts, you hear Heckman apologize to Lane for making him wait on the line.

Hollywood Ted “Hollywood” Heckman then asks Lane: “What can you legally talk about, with all this battle that is going on?”

Heckman’s question is about the feud between Lane and his former band Warrant splitting up.

Jani Lane says: “I don’t care. Sue me. Put me in jail, what they…whip me? I don’t care. I’ve been divorced, married, raped, I don’t care.”

Heckman then reads off a snippet from a Warrant press release from earlier in the year (dated January 9th 2004) about Lane leaving the band to pursue a solo project, and Lane replies; “A lie. A blatant lie.”

Lane continues with: “I never quit the band. Ahh, I was never notified of being replaced. Umm, by mail, e-mail or phone. Umm, I wrote the songs. I sing the songs. I will continue to do that, and they (Warrant) can go out and be the best cover band that they can possibly be.”

Heckman then asks: “So what do you think of your replacement?”

Lane: “Actually I like Jaime (St. James of Black N’ Blue). I wouldn’t necessarily want to be in his shoes after the show, you know, signing autographs.”

Heckman: “What do you  think of Mister (Joey) Allen coming back after all of these years?”

Lane: “Oh give me a break. Yeah, you know what, I will comment on that when I see it”

Metal Sludge thanks Hollywood Ted “Hollywood” Heckman for sharing this audio file from his show Hollywood’s Monsters of Rock Show.

Metal Sludge — In a recent barrage of news clips, Bobbie Brown is claiming her ex-husband the late Warrant singer Jani Lane was drugged and raped.

Jani_Lane_Bobbie_Brown_3The Cherry Pie Girl talked with Fox News and opened up about her life in many ways but it was the revelation about her late ex-husband that has stunned music fans.

Brown is on the record claiming Lane had confided in her, that he was drugged and raped by a famous Heavy Metal Rock Star.

Fox News: You describe there was no #MeToo movement during the time when Jani could have used it the most.

Brown: “At the moment that he admitted [he was drugged and raped by a member of a famous heavy metal band and their manager], it was devastating to hear. He admitted this to me before his death. It was traumatizing to watch him reveal those things and how much it had affected his life up to that point. When we were married I had no clue. This occurred when he was just starting out on the Strip. So when I’m hearing all of this with him, I’m crying with him. I was going, “We have to do something, we have to say something.” He was like, “No! No!” It was a humiliation for a man to be in that position.”

“It’s so emasculating and humiliating. It would have been humiliating for him. So we couldn’t say anything. Instead he lived with this anger inside. He felt like he couldn’t say anything because he was a man. He was raised to be a man, not to cry. It was all mind-f–king. I could see how it would have been devastating and humiliating for him to speak up. I got his perspective from it, but at the same time, I felt so hopeless for him, knowing that he felt he couldn’t say anything. And wouldn’t. That affected him greatly his whole life. It was part of the reason he drank. It’s sad really.” added Brown.

This story is now going viral in the Hard Rock and Hairband community.

The Heavy Metal website Metal Sucks have run this story with the caption BREAKIN” THE LAW as their headline for the article.

One can make assumptions, and guess who Brown is referring to all day long, but there are many who have suggested it’s all false, and that the Cherry Pie Girl is just trying to get press for her latest book “Cherry On Top” Rare Bird Books 2019.

Oddly, Brown first wrote about this incident involving Lane in her debut book “Dirty Rocker Boys” released in 2013 by Simon & Schuster.

With that said, a tipster has now come forward and confirmed the recent Bobbie Brown story to Metal Sludge that this did in fact happen to Jani Lane.

The tipster who wishes to remain anonymous works in the industry and resides in Tennessee wrote the following to Metal Sludge“Hey buddy I hope your having a good start to 2020. Would you consider removing the Jani post? This is a very touchy subject that has a much greater story attached to it. I love the site and have always been a stalker and really never contributed. I understand the whole Sludge thing is to be relentless but would you consider it please? I’d be happy to fill you in on a call but not in print.”

The Tennessee Tipster continues: “This actually happened and was very traumatic for him. He shared it with me one thanksgiving at my house.”

Metal Sludge inquired to the tipster as to how they came to learn about this, how they knew Lane and what their position was in all of this.

“I was going to sign him to a >redacted< deal and get him connected to my music row friends. I wanted to try to help as it seemed people were only interested in taking advantage of him. I always thought he had a lot more going on than his peers in the writing dept. This was probably 06-07 he was playing solo acoustic on some tour with a few other singers. He had one of his twist offs in FL and almost drowned. He left the tour and ended up in a really seedy part of Nashville. He showed up at a club in really bad shape and a friend called me to let me know. I finally tracked him down at Bekka’s…etc (After a few traumatic days later I had to put him on a plane as I realized I wasn’t capable of handling someone in this stage of his disease).” the tipster tells Metal Sludge

Jani_Lane_Bobbie_Brown_4The Tennessee Tipster also adds: “It’s a really long dramatic story that I’ve only told a few close friends but I believe I have a insight to his last few days that probably only a few have. Out of respect for his Sister who was one of the only ones who always had his back I would never want to disrespect him or his legacy. His disease spiraled to a place I had never seen before. Your basically a stranger to me but when I saw that thread it made me sad that Bobbie is willing to dig that deep to sale a book. I’m sure the other side is he put her through hell…”

Metal Sludge have now reached out to a second industry source who is very close to the subjects in these articles, and they have also confirmed this to be true, but have declined to openly go on the record, name names or go into further details.

“I feel this may have happened to others, and it’s a shame.” says our second source.

Traditional Rock website like Blabbermouth and Classic Rock among many others have all run this story.

And as shocking as this claim is, it’s now hitting more mainstream outlets as well with features on Fox News and People.
