“Did I mention that Aer Lingus sucks?”
— Ted Poley
AT THE AIRPORT — Rock singer Ted Poley has just experienced a nightmare of a flight that he has summed-up as; “Quite a brutal trip“.
Poley, 66, was en-route to the U.K. for weekend shows including the Tower Of Fire Festival and describes every travelers biggest fear… a screaming baby on board.
The New Jersey based musician was describing his experience flying with Aer Lingus Airlines, which a quick google search notes Aer Lingus is an Irish based airlines.
The classic voice of Danger Danger details delayed flights, extended time on the tarmac and having to pull an O.J. Simpson running through the airport to catch his connecting flight… however we cannot confirm or deny if he in-fact hurdled any suitcases or obstacles along the way.
Poley started his day with the following as shared on his official Facebook: “Hello people of the UK despite Aer Lingus’s best efforts to fuck up my trip I prevailed! by the way, worst airline yet! First flight was delayed by 2 1/2 hours almost missed the second connection made it by one minute by running… and then that plane sat on the tarmac for another hour and a half because Aer Lingus should be called piece of shit.”
The singer continued: “I haven’t slept in two days and I’m about to go to my meet and greet acoustic show,, quite a brutal trip.. … but I am very much looking forward to seeing my UK and European fans and we will have an awesome meet and greet and I will play acoustic songs until I fall asleep in front of everybody. Did I mention that Aer Lingus sucks? For a business ticket ended up in an economy with a screaming baby.”
According to YELP, the airlines has a 2 Star rating based on close to 400 reviews, and it appears, the overwhelming majority of their ratings are noted as 1 Star.
There also appears to be a fair amount of unhappy customers talking about Aer Lingus on Reddit as well.
Poley is not the first musician to go off on an airline, former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach has had various unfortunate travel experiences as has Disturbed singer David Draiman to name a few.
Poley continued: “Not taking it out on the one year-old, but I think their parents are fucking idiots and they should’ve taken the baby to the bathroom or maybe throwing it out the fucking door.. .. as soon as I mentioned that you should shut that fucking kid up all of a sudden I was the bad guy. I understand that a poor little baby’s ears might get pressurized or that they piss and shit on themselves a lot and cry, but if you’re stupid enough to bring a one year-old on a plane then when it starts freaking out, take it to the bathroom and stay there.
“And the shithead behind me that started yelling at me when I told that little fucking embryo to shut the fuck up it almost became a thing, and I spent most of the flight, turning around, giving him the stink eye telling him that we can discuss this as soon as we’re off the plane so it’s not a federal offense. fucking pussy. I did not see him again, although that kid never stopped crying. I like kids. But this thing was a megaphone with a shitty diaper. One-year-old is not a fucking kid. It’s still got that fresh vagina smell.
“Here’s an idea: Leave him with the grandparents next time so you don’t ruin everybody’s flight. Fuckhead. Too bad he ran away. I did so want to have that discussion with him when we landed. Some of you may think I’m terrible. I don’t care. leave your one-year-olds at home or FedEx them. I’m tired time to go make a room full of people think I’m not tired. # FedExcrying babies.”
Poley is scheduled to play 2 nights at the ‘Nightrain‘ club in Bradford England on Friday June 27th and Saturday June 28th for the Tower Of Fire Festival.
The first night is advertised as an acoustic performance with a Q&A included while night number two will be a full band playing electric with several openers including direct support from Midnite City, along with Collateral, Iconic Eye, Rhabstallion and First Light.
