BREAKING NEWS from METAL SLUDGE! / August 22^nd 2026

Just in late last night, Poison frontman Bret Michaels had fallen ill after his show at The Bowl at Sugar Hill in Sugar Hill Georgia.

Michaels was seen by doctors and paramedics immediately following his show last night in Sugar Hill, Georgia which left the singer weak and winded.

A source who was at the show noted the set-list was a few songs shorter than previous solo performances.

Also, some videos found on social media appear to show Michaels struggling a bit more than usual, and appearing to be somewhat winded at times.

The official statement sent to Metal Sludge late last night from Michaels Entertainment Group can be seen below and reads as follows…

Following Bret Michaels’ attempted show at The Bowl at Sugar Hill, doctors and paramedics determined immediately after the show that he still needs additional rest and recovery from his recent surgeries. Bret will be taking the next several months off to heal and get back to 100%.

Dr. Abby Borhan and Dr. Patel stated, “We will be pulling Bret off the road. He wanted to attempt this show, but we feel there is a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery ahead, especially considering the heat and the effect it can have on his blood sugar levels.”

Our deepest apologies from Michaels Entertainment Group, as we were truly looking forward to the rest of this year’s shows, including Music on the Mountain, private events and all the great shows coming up. We now look ahead to 2027 and to Bret being able to return healthy, strong and ready to rock.

Michaels was slated to appear at The Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg Tennessee tomorrow Saturday August 22^nd with Night Ranger, Jackyl, Lita Ford, White Lion, Dangerous Toys and others.

Michaels has several shows scheduled throughout 2026, but it’s unknown what will be postponed or cancelled as of press time.

An official statement has been posted on Bret Michaels social media.
