Metal Sludge — Here is a follow-up to our article earlier in the month titled ROCKER WANTED.

The article was regarding the (unknown) long-haired man who was involved in some late night drama at a Palm Springs area restaurant.

In a nutshell, it seems service was suspended late in the evening after several patrons had already been waiting for some time to be served, and when informed they would not get to eat, things got ugly.

The ugly part involved a male and female customer, pushing over and throwing some display items over the counter and at employees.

It didn’t take long after the incident that local news in Palm Springs started running their story, complete with crystal clear video footage of the incident that showed the hungry and disgruntled customers taking it out on the I Heart Mac & Cheese staff.

The news clip soon went viral on Tik-Tok with countless views.

The clips found their way into our inbox, with several folks asking for our help as it was assumed that Metal Sludge might be able to help them identify the long-haired rocker and friends involved.

The man in question was rock bassist EJ Curse, 63, of the band Silent Rage.

The incident circulated throughout social media and onto local Southern California news stations in a short time, and quickly Curse was identified along with some others in the footage.

Well it seems that Curse has taken full responsibility for his actions, and has made a public statement after going through the proper channels with the restaurant and authorities to make his wrong a right.

Below is the full statement from Curse as shared on his official Instagram page.

Curse wrote: “Recently, there was an incident at a restaurant to which I responded in an inappropriate manner. I want to make it clear that soon after the event, I took responsibility and reached out to the owner of the establishment to apologize. I have been working with the establishment to resolve the matter privately. Although there is no excuse for my behavior, there obviously is a backstory as to what led to my reaction. Regardless, I would like to apologize to the innocent staff members.

Also, my sincere apologies to my innocent friends, band members and associates who have been targeted through social media. I acted alone in my behavior. No one else should be held accountable. I accept responsibility. I will continue to grow & to learn from my mistakes. I want my friends, family and fans to know that this misguided moment does not reflect my true character and does not align with my values.

My passion in life has always been to bring joy and love through music. I will continue to do so, & also to lead a life of empathy & integrity.

Thank you. Peace and love. EJ Curse

Silent Rage were originally signed to Simmons Records, owned by KISS bassist Gene Simmons in the 1980’s.

Curse is well known in the Los Angeles area music scene, and we commend him for owning up on his actions.
