LOS ANGELES, California — During a recent interview at the ‘Rock For Ronnie‘ charity event in Los Angeles, Sebastian Bach was asked for an opinion on the other notable singers who have fronted Skid Row.

The interview was by done former Anthrax singer Neil Turbin for The Metal Voice.

Turbin approached Bach introduced himself, and the former Skid Row screamer seemed genuinely excited to meet the ‘Metal Thrashing Mad‘ vocalist.

Turbin as he walks up to Bach: “What’s happening everyone, Neil Turbin with The Metal Voice here, and we’re here with….”

But…. before Turbin could finish his sentence Bach asks: “You’re Neil Turbin from Anthrax?”

Turbin: “Yeah, that guy… I guess… someone has to be.”

Bach looking stunned asks again: “That’s really you?”

Turbin offers Bach a cold drink: “You want a beer?”

Bach still seems perplexed and asks a third time: “That’s REALLY you?”, as he simultaneously says, “No” to Turbin‘s beer offer.

Turbin replies: “At least I offered”, referencing the beer.

Bach once again says as he stares at Turbin; “That’s you, from Anthrax?”

Turbin; “Yes. Nice to meet you Sebastian“, as he reaches out to shake hands.

Bach seems to be a little star-struck; “Holy sh!t!”, as he references the Anthrax debut album ‘Fistful of Metal‘ which Turbin appeared on.

Bach adding enthusiastically: “I used to crank your album dude!”

Finally they settle in and a few questions are asked about Ronnie James Dio.

Turbin then goes down the dark path and decides to ask a Skid Row question.

Turbin to Bach; “So if you were to pick a singer, from your old band (Skid Row) that was after you… is there anybody that you know that you think is, umm, is better than the other guy? In other words, someone who appeals to you? It doesn’t mean that they’re a better singer, it just means that maybe, you like them better… just the sound of it. Is there even an opinion on that?”

Bach replied; “I would have to… I would need to hear them sing and I have never listened to any of them, ever. Why would I listen to that?”

Bach talked about Ronnie James Dio, his current album and spoke briefly about Skid Rows other singers.

When asked who he thought was the best singer (other than himself) Skid Row had in their career he replied,” I would need to hear them sing and I have never listened to any of them ever. Why would I listen to that ?”

Sebastian Bach sang for Skid Row from 1987-1996

As of 2025, the band Skid Row has had seven official lead singers over the years:

Matt Fallon (1986–1987) – Early member, recorded demos but left before the debut album.

Sebastian Bach (1987–1996) – Most well-known vocalist; fronted the band during their commercial peak.

Shawn McCabe (briefly in 1997) – Rehearsed with the band but was never officially recorded.

Johnny Solinger (1999–2015) – Longest-serving vocalist in terms of tenure.

Tony Harnell (2015) – Former TNT singer; had a short stint with the band.

ZP Theart (2016–2022) – Former DragonForce vocalist; fronted Skid Row during their transition period.

Erik Grönwall (2022–2024) – Former Swedish Idol winner and H.E.A.T vocalist; sang on their 2022 album The Gang’s All Here, but left in 2024 due to health reasons.
