Stevie Rachelle of Tuff and Metal Sludge visits Get On The Bus
METAL SLUDGE / October 24th 2026 – In their on-going series of video interviews GET ON THE BUS continue to bring high quality content to YouTube.
GOTB have recently brought a handful of new interviews to their channel that include Billy Idol’s partner in crime and guitar wizard Steve Stevens, Billy Morrison best known from his time in The Cult, Poison drummer Rikki Rockett and Tuff frontman Stevie Rachelle.
Stevens talks about his early years coming up in the club scene playing in cover bands and on the same circuit that Twisted Sister were playing. The New York born guitarist also covers meeting Billy Idol, working with Producer Keith Forsey, finding himself in the same working space as the King of Pop Michael Jackson and his trademark Laser Gun guitar solos.
Morrison talks about his time playing in The Cult, playing with Billy Idol, and his longtime friendship with the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne. Morrison also talks about the people, experiences and relationships that shaped him both on and off the stage.
Rockett tells listeners about forming Poison in the cold winter back in Pennsylvania with his friend and bassist Bobby Dall. Dall told Rikki about a new bus-boy at his job that had long hair and even had his own P.A. system, so they invited him to audition for their band… his name was Bret Michaels. Rockett also discusses auditioning Slash before C.C., the group’s first big tour with Ratt, his fight against cancer and his new book ‘Ghost Notes’.
Rachelle speaks at length about Metal Sludge and how the site was early to the internet and why he opted to go the route he did with the controversial outlet you are all reading this on today. There are various mentions of Tuff as well and that hair extensions were a must for him in 1987 when he first joined the Hollywood based band as he only had Leif Garrett length hair.
