Metal Sludge — Rock Promoter Gabe Reed has been released early from his 57 month Federal prison sentence.

Reed took to his official Facebook earlier today (January 19th 2022) and shared a message with friends and followers.

“It has been a long difficult road but by the pure grace of God I was very blessed to be granted early release by the powers that be at the Department of Justice over the weekend. I am now “government free” to rebuild and live my life.” stated Reed.

He continued: “Thank you to everyone that has been there for me over the last few years – I cannot ever thank you all enough.”

Reed was sentenced in the spring of 2018 to a 57 month prison sentence after pleading guilty to various charges in October 2017.

Investigators claimed in their lawsuit against Reed that the incidents in question that resulted in Federal fraud charges, started nearly a decade earlier in or around June of 2008.

As reported in Pollstar (April 23rd 2018): “A concert promoter who operated as Dallas-based Gabe Reed Productions has reportedly  been sentenced 57 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud for defrauding investors, promoters and performers who invested in concerts and World Wrestling Entertainment events.”

For fans who aren’t initially familiar with Reed, he was the 2-toned rocker interview in the Penelope Spheeris documentary “Decline of Western Civiliazation – Part 2 The Metal Years.”

In closing Reed stated that he looks to redeem himself to those who he harmed: “God has truly blessed me and for those whom I have harmed in the past, I promise that I will do everything possible to redeem my self to you materially and otherwise.”
