SLUDGETTE OF THE MONTH
This month’s Sludgette Of The Month is a photo chick who sent us a variety of photos from our MSX Summer Tour. She’s also a frequent poster on our Gossip Board, sports of variety of Metal Sludge Swag, and she’s hot! Congratulations to our October 2003 Sludgette Of The Month, Sherry Globman.
1. Name and age:
My name is sherry Globman and I’m 25 years young.
2. Height, weight, and measurements:
At about 5’8″, I’m tall enough to look a man in the eyes, strong enough to hold my own and busty enough to fill out a wife beater.
3. Where are you from?
I’m from New York Fuckin City! I’m currently living in Hollyweird.
My ambition is definitely to succeed at what I want to do in life. With photography, be the best damn photographer I can be and work for a kick ass publication. With design, be a top web and graphic designer. And personally, it has always been to enjoy every moment of life and be happy,
which I am glad to say I am doing now.
My turn-ons personality wise…. someone who can make me laugh and smile, someone creative, ambitious, smart, dedicated and talented. Someone who has goals and cares for themselves, as much as they do for others. And physically…. cool hair, tall, tat’s, piercings, skinny, shaved and/or trimmed, dark hair and eyes. Basically, the musician who rocks my world!
My turn-offs are someone who is selfish and shows off too much. That definitely shows a lack of self-confidence. Oh, and two words: Body hair.
7. Favorite bands:
OK, here goes… in no particular order some of my favorite signed bands are… The Ramones, Motley Crue, Tuff, Nine Inch Nails, The Queers, Screeching Weasel, Skid Row, KMFDM, Lords Of Acid, The Cure, Type O Negative, Janes Addiction, Guns N Roses, NOFX, The Descendents, Misfits, Super Suckers, The Pixies, Pansy Division…. the list could go on and on.
Basically, I’m a punk at heart. And a few unsigned bands who I think totally rock…. Agrokulcher, Slunt, Dirty Mary, The Sex Slaves, Freedom Under Xray, The Independents, Stellar Tuesday, Uranium 235, Joker 5 Speed…. and this list could go on and on as well! Support your local music scene!
8. How long have you been coming to Metal Sludge?
I’ve been coming to Sludge since the end of 2001. I discovered Sludge when I was looking into moving to Hollywood… go figure!
9. What’s your biggest vice?
My biggest vice would definitely be my daily cup of iced coffee, my nightly glass of wine, and sex of course! Hey, a girl can enjoy the good things in life, can’t she?!?
10. You’re a photographer. How long have you been doing that and are you making good money doing that?
I’ve been photographing since I was about 16 years old I and would sneak into NYC punk clubs to photograph the bands. I ended up going to NYU as a Photography Major and would come to class with photos of The Ramones, Blondie, Cheap Trick, The Damned, The Misfits, etc. while my classmates exhibited photos of pretty trees. Throughout college I worked at The Continental rock bar on St. Marks St. and ended up becoming the house photographer so a lot of my photos are on display there now. I also got a lot of work for local NYC bands, publications and websites. After that, I just kept shooting and have amassed quite a large portfolio of musicians past, present and future. As for making good money, so far so good. Just like in the music business, it takes experience to get experience. I’m currently a freelance photographer and web designer in LA and working for several local and national bands. Hey, I’m gettin there!
11. Items I can’t live without:
My camera and my computer… I’m a dork at heart.
12. When did you lose your virginity and how was it?
I lost my virginity when I was 18 years old and it was first class all the way…. a one night stand at a Ho Jo’s on 34th St. in NYC by the Port Authority bus station! 95 bucks for a room for the night that we only used for an hour, with a communal bathroom in the hallway. I sent him out for
condoms, and he came back with a single condom and a tall boy can of Bud in a paper bag. How fuckin’ romantic! As for the sex itself, let’s just say I lost my virginity! The best part… this is a true story!
13. What’s the surest way to fuck up a date with you?
Let’s just say if you even try to meet me with a cheesy pick up line like “come here often” you won’t even get as far as my name. If you’re lucky, all you’ll get is a bitchy response and a view of my back as I walk away. Hey, I’m from New York City, what else did you expect?!
14. Do you believe in friends with “benefits”?
Hells yea, when there isn’t that one special someone in your life to keep you satisfied all the time, why not?! As long as you remember, it may come with consequences. I believe friendship is the most important thing in life.
15. Of all the bands you shot, were any dicks or try to come onto you too much?
Honestly, I’ve never really shot any bands that were assholes to me. And if they hit on me, that doesn’t mean they got any! And hell, I still got paid to shoot! Sorry, I know this is Sludge, but no good dirt on the bands I’ve shot.
16. Five bands I’d like to shoot:
1. The Ramones original lineup circa 1978.
2. Motley Crue – “Shout At The Devil” tour.
3. Aerosmith any time.
4. Nine Inch Nails any time.
5. Guns N Roses – Appetite For Destruction Era.
17. The way to my heart is:
A Vegan meal, a large bottle of White Zinfandel wine, a pack of film, and Jenna Jameson in tow! OK, that’s the fun way to my heart…. but seriously…. someone who can truly be themselves and is an honest person has a way to my heart.
18. How do you feel about being our October 2003 Sludgette Of The Month?
It fuckin’ rocks! I had no idea what I was getting into when I found Metal Sludge a few years ago, but I can definitely say its been great and I’m honored to be a Sludgette! Sludge isn’t just a website, it’s an awesome community of kick ass people! Sludge has made me laugh, kept me entertained, and helped me promote my photography. And I’ve met some very special people
through Sludge who I am so happy to have in my life now. If anyone wants to know more about me, or needs photos or a website, just check out my website. http://www.sherryglobman.com.
19. Personal Motto:
“Good things come to those who wait”, “Everything in life happens for a reason” and “The longer the better”.
Congratulations to Sherry for being our October 2003 Sludgette Of The Month!
