Metal Sludge’s 6th Birthday Wish, 9/1/04 Hey, guess what? Today Metal Sludge turns 6 years old. Yeah, birthdays are cool and all, but we’d like today to be a time to think about something else.
Did you ever take a minute and think about what other people don’t have? Like even the very basics. Food, a family, shelter, water, heat, clothing, and so on? Well, most of us have these things, and even if we don’t, we have something else that’s even more important: our life.
That’s right. We have life, and all should cherish it in a big way. Life is good, so live it.
So, with that said, let’s think about those who don’t have what we have.
The Station Nightclub tragedy is something that all of us, especially from ‘this’ music community, remember well. And to the rest of the world, they will be reminded about it on the news here and there, or on the anniversary (Feb. 20th) of this horrible event.
Let’s remember Ty Longley & his son Acey. Let’s remember the other many families affected, the Station Nightclub, and the band Great White. Let’s remember them today, and not wait until next year, Christmas, or on a certain person’s birthday.
