Bret rocks Thur. nite and Pearcy Wed. with Ratt!

This week will be the 2nd Rocklahoma, and it might shape up to be the first ever Drunklahoma if the bands follow the recent trend.

In the recent week we’ve seen major metal melt downs with Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy in Mexico and Warrant blond bomber Jani Lane in Las Vegas

In addition we’ve recently witnessed some questionable (posting) behavior by Donnie Vie who has re-united with his band Enuff Z’nuff. And there was the cancellation of the whole Cinderella summer tour with Warrant.

It seems there are several re-unions, but at the same time some shit is hitting the fan already. The heart and soul of what the hair decade is all about. There are tons of bands, re-unions, and rare shows for some of the true pioneers of the era. A few of them are here below – Black n’ Blue & Jetboy.

BLACK ‘N BLUE REUNION CHARGES AHEAD WITH FESTIVAL DATES

As previously reported, BLACK ‘N BLUE has launched a reunion in 2008 featuring four original members in Jaime St. James (vocals), Jef "Woop" Warner (guitar), Pete Holmes (drums), and Patrick Young (Bass). The four members are joined by second guitarist, Shawn Sonnenschein, who has been in the fold since 2003 when the band had played a few dates. Sonnenschein is the replacement for original guitarist, Thommy Thayer, who is currently in KISS.

The band was reactivated earlier this year after St. James departure from Warrant. "My 4 years in Warrant were awesome. I made some lifetime friends and will always cherish that time in my life. That being said, it feels so good to sing the great Black ‘N Blue tunes again," St. James says.

The band is scheduled to play this year’s Rocklahoma Festival on Saturday, July 12. In addition, the band has also been added to the main stage at the Rock the Bayou Festival in Houston on Labor Day Weekend where they are scheduled to perform on Sunday, August 31. Further show announcements are expected in the coming weeks. There is also a plan to tour the UK and Europe in early November, with further information to be announced shortly.

In addition to the shows, Black ‘N Blue will also hit the studio in the coming months to complete the long awaited released, "Hell Yeah!". Plans for its release will be announced later this year.

Returning from a 20 year self imposed exile, Jetboy has reemerged sporting a blend of passion and edginess that the music industry desperately needs. To that end, Jetboy is preparing to embark on “The Glam Years” tour which began June 27 in Sunnyvale, California.

Having endured not only personal tragedy with the death of their bass player Todd Crew, the band was derailed at the peak of their success by a massive reorganization at Elektra Records. The members of Jetboy, sporting a renewed enthusiasm, are embarking on a mission dedicated to completing the journey that the four original members started those many years ago.

In an industry where bands fight to stay relevant, Jetboy is doing it with relative ease. With the release of their recent remake of the Johnny Cash hit Folsom Prison Blues, Jetboy has produced a bona fide winner that is appealing to not only their original fan base, but a younger alternative audience that has embraced the band as one of their own.

Long recognized as one of the premier acts of the 1980’s, that legacy continues today with the recent release of The Glam Years Movie and CD. The compilation features a 1986 performance at the Whiskey A Go-Go, interviews as well as a 21 track audio CD.

Jetboy is:

Mickey Finn- Vocals / Fernie Rod- Guitar / Billy Rowe- Guitar

Michael Butler- Bass / Jeff Moscone- Drums
