We have been very careful to not post anything but the official news from Bret’s official sites. Or what we have found on major outlets such as CNN, Yahoo, People, TMZ, etc…
Now it seems that a post from early yesterday (April 28th) on Bret Michaels’ official website and Twitter seems to have evaporated into thin air.

Hmmm, it seems kind of odd to be plugging and posting to “follow” Bret on Twitter when the guy has been at deaths door for the last week. Afterall, the whole world has been following plenty, and we don’t believe there is a need to plug the Twitter, Facebook or any other “official” site. Everyone with an IQ over 10 knows where to find the guy.
Has anyone else found it odd that all this time, Bret has been at an “undisclosed” hospital.
How come when Elvis was in the hospital we always knew a few hours later where he was. Same with Michael Jackson, President Clinton or any other celebrity. Is Bret Michaels bigger than all of these people that an entire hospital staff and the whole entertainment industry can’t pin down his location? Or is it because he has been discharged days ago and is sitting at home reading all his headline stories on the internet.
Metal Sludge has been doing some digging, along with some die hard fans who are emailing us with their opinions. It seems as if though this story is starting to take some odd twists & turns.
Going back to yesterday.
The “deleted” post from above has been cut, pasted and passed around to tens of thousands of fans and friends around the internet already. That post is found on Blabbermouth and quotes the latest “Official Bret Michael’s” posted letter that his tour would resume on May 26th.
This all sounds pretty unreal for a guy who was on his death bed for the last week.
POISON singer Bret Michaels‘ official MySpace page has been updated with the following message:
“To all of Bret‘s friends and fans, we thank you all for your continued support and outpouring of well wishes for Bret.
“While additional studies are planned throughout the week, to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture, Bret will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no further complications occur. He is responding well to tests and treatments.
“Even though yesterday was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday.
“While Bret is recovering, we obviously have some shows that are being rescheduled. We are working to reschedule dates from now until May 21st.
“At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas provided there are no further complications or setbacks. We will then continue with all scheduled dates throughout the summer and fall, including the June and July tour with LYNYRD SKYNYRD.
“Look for additional information in the days and weeks to come.
“For those of you with tickets for shows that are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored on the new dates. Tickets remain on sale for the shows which are being rescheduled although the new dates have yet to be announced.
“Thanks for your support!”

As of this post, Bret is still in ICU at an undisclosed hospital. And his condition has encountered a set back. Yet no actual Doctor name, or hospital statement is given yet again. But Bret’s people made sure to plug his latest TV show, celebrity friends, and how he’s so down to earth and a likeable guy.
Tuesday April 27th 2010 @ 5:00pm Now we have the Pete Evick letter >HERE<
Which includes the following: “I know that everyone is waiting for some OFFICIAL news, however we just cant give any right now. This is a time for family, a time for healing and a time for love. It is out of respect first and foremost for his precious daughters, their mother and his immediate family that none of us say anything. The press has a way of taking information and doing what they want with it. At a critical time, we who care deepest for him, refuse to offer any information that can be delivered incorrectly.”
Ok, all good, fair enough.
But the second half of Pete’s letter says this: “We have been hard at work on the upcoming CUSTOM BUILT record. To keep my own sanity in this last week, I dove heavy into the music. One of my personal favorites in a track called WASTED TIME. It is full of pure BRET MICHAELS emotion and heart. While not the final mix, I took some of the vocal we have laid down on the bus during the tour and comped together a piece of NEW MUSIC for you all. I believe all the fans will agree with me that this teaser is an amazing song.”
So Bret is almost dead yet we’re talking about the new CD titled “CUSTOM BUILT”?
Who the fuck is kidding who here Pete? Who would really give a fuck about a final mix or what an amazing song this is if the guy is indeed in critical condition in ICU!
Now it’s Thursday a full week later and here is what we see today.

Doctors are also continuing to treat Bret for the hyponatremia and today he will be undergoing more testing as well as an additional MRA.
There will be a press conference on Tuesday at which doctors who have been treating Bret will further explain his condition, treatment and prognosis.
Location and time of the press conference will be released Friday.
Well it’s been a solid week and Bret is still in critical condition, still in ICU, with NO location of the hospital and NO official Doctor names or statements.

According to CNN.com, Michaels‘s road manager Janna Elias, who has been posting daily updates for fans on Bret‘s official web site, wrote Wednesday evening that his band could resume its tour in a month.
Elias said the plan is for Michaels‘ tour to resume May 26 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, “provided there are no further complications or setbacks.”
“Even though yesterday was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday,” Elias said.
Tuesday’s statement from Elias disclosed that Michaels suffered a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called “hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures.” Doctors still have not pinpointed the “exact cause of the rupture” in Michaels‘ brain, she said.
“He is responding well to tests and treatments,” Elias said.
Doctors told Michaels “is very lucky as his condition could have been fatal,” she said.
“With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system, which can be a very painful recovery and take several weeks to months,” she said.
Wow. This is shocking and a miracle. He’s gonna be ok! Hip, hip, hooray!
Bret is STILL as of today (according to his own Twitter) in critical condition and in ICU under 24 hour care, yet yesterday Janna was promoting the up coming tour for Bret. This tour could be a big hit. Even if Bret is dead. Like a “Weekend at Bernie’s” type deal only on the road.
Anyone want to start printing blue wind breakers with Bret’s name on the back?
As of Thursday April 29th 2010 Metal Sludge has several sources alledging that in a nut shell “Bret has taken and run with this buzz story.” In other words, a lot of this is phony baloney folks.
Yes he was in the hospital, yes there was some touch n’ go health issues, yes he had some “brain” bleed or similar rupture. However, we are hearing strong runor that he is no longer in the hospital, and hasn’t been for days.
The rumor is – that he is OK. Not in the hospital, NOT in ICU, NOT in critical condition and has been home at home with his family. Which is great news if true. It seems as if though this prolonged “follow us on Twitter” stuff, was just to build his brand name, hype, promote up coming tour dates, his book & new CD.
Of course, that is just the opinion and thoughts of Metal Sludge.
