HOLLYWOOD – It’s the 15th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, and what a celebration it was Wednesday for opening-night festivities in a special private concert at Guitar Center on Sunset Strip, where some of the world’s biggest rock stars – and a few not so big (!) – presented an all-star jam for the ages.
Kip Winger was the main organizer – sorry girls, no bare chest this time around – and among the participants were none other than Great White singer Jack Russell (who performed brilliantly on “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Bad Company”), Rudy Sarzo (Whitesnake/Quiet Riot), Alan White (Yes), Bruce Kulick (ex-KISS), Vinnie Appice (Black Sabbath), Billy Sheehan (ex-David Lee Roth/Talas), Phil Soussan (Ozzy/Billy Idol), Kane Roberts (Alice Cooper) and others.

Mark Hudson, who writes for Ringo Starr, Aersosmith and others, is a fine singer in his own right, and he started the festivities with a Beatles medley, followed by his own song, the Aerosmith hit “Livin’ on the Edge.”
There were more highlights: Kip Winger lent his vocals to “School’s Out”; it was White, Soussan, Kulick, Sarzo, Winger and top keyboardist Teddy Andreadis kicking ass on Queen’s “Tie Your Mother Down”; and things reached a fervor pitch with “Roundabout,” as Robert Sarzo (Rudy’s brother) did a great job with the little guitar parts.
Jack Russell “I’ve flat-lined three times – but my fans never did,
and I just want to thank them for all the love and support.”
There are more big events in store for Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp, including a special final celebration Saturday night at the Playboy Mansion featuring the great Steven Tyler as lead singer! Tickets are available HERE
“Everyone told me I was crazy for trying to this, that it would never work,” said Rock and Roll Fantasy camp founder David Fishoff said. “Well, we’re going strong, stronger than ever. I put Ringo Starr’s All-Starr band together a long time ago, and they said they would never work either.”
Fishoff is perfect for his job because he has indisputable respect in the industry, plus a booming personality that makes him a natural camp counselor. He even lent us a scoop by letting us know Julian Lennon will be performing at the finale, too.
It was also nice to Jack Russell in such fine form. For any of you wondering out there if the hype is merely hope, the man can still sing like a god after recovering from various illnesses and addictions.

Alan Krigger & Jack Russell
“I’m top-notch. My voice still sounds good, just like the ‘80s,” Russell said. “Oh my god, I guess I’m the Rocky of rock and roll. A lot of people gave up on me – I’ve flat-lined three times – but my fans never did, and I just want to thank them for all the love and support.”
Kip Winger & Teddy “Zig Zag” Andreadis
“I love it,” Winger said. “This camp reminds me of why people want to do music in the first place. They’re all rock stars in training.”
