Guns “Live Acoustic Show Review”

On Thursday night 05/31/12 L.A. Guns played at a small bar in Oglesby IL called Prime Time Tap. It was originally billed as just an acoustic show with only vocalist Phil Lewis and guitarist Stacy Blades. Shortly before the show it was announced that former W.A.S.P. Nike Homme and current L.A. Guns drummer Steve Riley plus bassist Scotty Griffin would make the show also. It was in question whether it was going to be an electric or acoustic show. Nike Air Max Thea Femme Bleu I was just happy it was the real L.A.

Guns and not the train wreck Traci is calling L.A. Guns. New Balance Polska When they took the stage it turned out to be acoustic. But for an acoustic show it rocked. They opened with classic “Sex Action” and Phil sounded like it was 1988 again. Next came a couple of cuts off of the underated 1991 Hollywood Vampires album, “Over The Edge” and “My Koo Ka Choo”. nike air presto donna Phil then told everyone that their new album Hollywood Forever would be released soon which he said would be even better than previous album Tales From The Strip. And based on the next two songs I believed him. Air Jordan 2 Homme Both songs, “You Better Not Love Me” & “Sweet Mystery”, make you think they are leftovers from 1989’s Cocked & Loaded album. The ballad “Crystal Eyes”, another song from Hollywood Vampires, was next. Then a rare song from Phil’s Filthy Lucre project, “Baby I Want”, was played. Asics Gel Lyte 5 Homme It sounded amazingly like it could have come off any of L.A. Guns albums. Two more great new songs off of the upcoming album, “Queenie” & “Crazy Tango”, were next. nike air max 1 print donna Then surprisingly the song “Vampire” off of Tales From The Strip was played. nike internationalist donna And acoustically it rocked. asics gel nimbus And of course the song everyone wants to hear and seemingly the only song alot of people know, “Ballad Of Jayne”, ended the show. They came out for one last encore and played “Rip N Tear” which is one of my favorite songs. nike air max 1 pas cher After the show even at this small of a venue they were nice enough to come out and sign anything the fans had. Overall L.A. Nike Flyknit Donna Guns seems ageless and do not seem to have lost much from the 80’s.
