Los Angeles, CA — A few weeks back we did a post HERE on Tracii Guns launching a kickstarter campaign. These have become more common and the debate is on whether it’s just asking for hand outs from the fans; or a truly viable and legitimate way to fund a project.
The former LA Guns guitarist and founder asked fans for $ 6,600.00 to make 500 Vinyl records for his new band The Tracii Guns League of Gentleman. After 3 weeks he made it about half way to his goal but decided to pull the plug today.
Ironically yesterday he tweeted about his new idea to release his next recording on cassette. You can read that post HERE.
Tracii tweeted the following today about ending the kickstarter.
Moby Dicks rehearsal today! So! It’s looking like a February release for the new album and that means that we got major distribution which also means we still get too do the fun stuff like albums and cassettes or whatever we want to do but, this also means I have to reformat the kickstarter format and remove the digital download part of the project so, we will have to restart this whole process again most likely in October or November and since we have to do that everyone that pledged on this first round will get two free tickets to a show in your area by sending an email to traciigunsband@gmail.com with your names and date and city. You will also get the money you pledged refunded :)….. Alot more info probably Monday as far as tour dates label info etc etc etc. Thanx for your patience!
