Ex Anthrax Guitarist Dan Spitz’s Wife Candi Says “He’s 5 feet tall and 100 pounds all wet. And I kick box. He could never harm me if he tried.”
MIAMI — Anthrax lead guitarist Dan Spitz‘s holiday season just got better.
Spitz, 50, was spotted at Zoo Miami this afternoon with his wife, the woman he was accused of roughing up on Christmas morning — and she tells Gossip Extra exclusively she will not press charge.
The couple took their 7-year-old twins to the South Miami attraction shortly after Spitz’s release from the Palm Beach County slammer.
Spitz was arrested at home in Lake Worth when his wife’s mother called 911 to report he was trying to choke wife Candi, 38.
Obviously, they kissed and made up.
“I’m not planning on pursuing this in court,” Candi tells Gossip Extra. “This was a big misunderstanding. My mom should’ve never called 911.”
A former groupie who’s been married to Spitz for seven years, Candi explains: “We were separated for a week last year, and Christmas eve was the first anniversary.
“The stress level at home has been astronomical. Our children are both autistic and Dan may have early onset Parkinson’s Disease.
“We were all drinking wine, and he just snapped.”
Candi says her husband started packing her bags, and she stood in his way. Things worsened from there on.
“No matter what’s in the police report,” Candi said, “he never hit me or tried to harm me. He did shove me, and unfortunately I bruised my shoulder.
“But come on: He’s 5 feet tall and 100 pounds all wet. And I kick box. He could never harm me if he tried.”
Candi tells me Spitz spent the night in jail and was released early Thursday afternoon.
Did any of his cell mates recognize him?
“I understand most of the other people in jail aren’t heavy metal fans,” she said.
