DON’T STOP BELIEVING
Fans want Journey reunion with Steve Perry over Guns N’ Roses
Poll Results — Well, well, well My Michelle is gonna have to be the runner-up this week.
Metal Sludge recently put up a poll to ask fans which rock n’ roll reunion they wanted the most for Christmas. Well the fans have spoken, and we have roughly 10,000 votes to prove it.
It looks like Journey is the clear winner. The Bay Area quintet is definitely in demand and that’s likely been fueled by the recent Steve Perry sightings.
The former Journey frontman shocked fans when he appeared with the band EELS on their 2014 tour. Not only did Perry show up and sing, but he tackled several Journey classics with the band. The videos from those appearances went viral and the excitement did the same.
A Journey reunion with Steve Perry grabbed over 3,100 of the votes and if this did happen, it’s safe to say whatever size venue they play would be sold out for sure.
Guns N’ Roses is always a favorite among die hard fans when it comes to reunion talk as well. And seeing the original line up is likely on the bucket list for millions of fans. Nearly 2,500 voted for the gunners in our recent poll to grab 2nd place. But sadly, seeing that happen is about as likely as seeing the original members of The Doors, The Beatles or The Who take the stage.
When Guns N’ Roses were nominated to be inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame back in 2012 Axl Rose was quoted as saying. “In regard to a reunion of any kind of either the Appetite or Illusion lineups, I’ve publicly made myself more than clear. Nothing’s changed.”
The sole remaining member of the band went onto say; “So let sleeping dogs lie or lying dogs sleep or whatever. Time to move on. People get divorced.”
Our 3rd place group is L.A. Guns who grabbed over 1,200 votes. Oddly, they are essentially the bastard spawn of our 2nd place rockers Guns N’ Roses.
Tracii Guns was an original member of Axl’s bunch, but went off on his own, took his name and launched L.A. Guns. Now nearly 30 years later, Guns himself is not part of his own band and hasn’t been for years. We’ve all heard about the dual line up tours, recordings and more. But after several years of the back n’ fourth, it appears that Guns finally gave up on his own version.
Van Halen with Michael Anthony and Skid Row with Sebastian Bach both grabbed exactly 820 votes each for a 4th & 5th place tie.
Accept with Udo Dirkschneider was the clear loser with only 92 votes. Oh well, Balls to the Walls is still a great song.
