TALK KARATE TO ME
Poison drummer Rikki Rockett wants to kick your ass to tune of $7,500.00

Pledge Music  —  Everyone who is a fan of Devil City Angels put your hand up. Now everyone who wants to pay for them to make a record, keep your hand up.

Raise it high.

How high?

High enough to protect your face.

Why?

Because Rikki Rockett might punch it.

Devil City Angels have recently launched a Pledge Music campaign to raise money to record their debut record and this one might involve you getting your ass kicked.

That is if you decide to pay for it.

Like many funding projects this one is no different. There is a laundry list of ways to contribute to the band’s recording. Some options are general, and seem reasonable.

Examples: Digital download of the new record is $ 10.00. A CD copy signed by all 4 members is $ 25.00 and the bundle pack (T-Shirt, signed poster, signed CD) is $ 75.00.

However, then it does get a little wacky. A piece of paper with the lyrics to a song, hand written by a band member and signed is $ 150.00. Huh?

Correct. You get 1 sheet of paper, for $ 150.00.

We just checked google and found you can get 6 cases of paper (2500 sheets per case) for the same price. That’s 15,000 sheets of paper for those keeping track. Now if Prince wrote the lyrics for “Purple Rain” and signed it, it’s likely it would sell for 10 x this on eBay.

But we’re not talking about Prince, right?

Didn’t think so, ok – moving along.

Next….

Bandanna $ 14.00, CD only, not signed $ 15.00 or a ladies style tank top goes for $ 27.00. All fair and square. Even the Tracii Guns signature model guitar at $ 1,250.00 seems to be realistic in pricing. Or for the big spender, the $ 5,000.00 Rockett drumworks custom drum set.

In the end these are big items, costly, but you go home with a guitar. Or a drum set. Hell, Rockett ain’t Neil Peart, but regardless, it’s a pro-level kit that can last a decade or two for any garage level to national touring band.

But then we saw the last option and couldn’t help but feel like we were kicked in the nuts.

Literally.

That is the option if you will.

Yes. That is right, the option is to offer your nuts for a kicking, by Rockett. Add to that, you might be getting slapped, punched and choked out too. And for how much? $ 7.500.00. Yes, you are reading this right.

Seven thousand, five hundred dollars.

For your hard earned money, you get to let the drummer from Poison (hopefully he’ll be wearing some glam girl clothes and eye liner) beat the shit out of you.

We’ve come up with a list of other ways you can spend $ 7.500.00

Sign up for Brazilian Jiu Jit-Su at a Gracie Academy owned/operated dojo and take classes for 4 years and 7 months.

Go to Carmax.com and buy a well maintained used Corvette with under 100k miles on it.

Take you and 5 of your friends on the Monsters of Rock Cruise, ticket, meals and cabins included.

Meet and greet the whole band  KISS – not once, not twice, but six times for the same money.

Or go to a Bret Michaels concert, get a ticket along with meet and greet, not once, not twice, but 37 nights in a row.

We wish the guys the best of luck on their new Karate City Angels project, and hope a fan doesn’t get beat to a pulp just so they can make it.

If you want more info – go HERE to check it out.

Now cue the music.
