Metal Sludge — In a new clip from Full In Bloom Music, Tom Werman talks about working with the band Poison.

Werman talks about producing the band’s sophomore release “Open Up and Say… Ahh!”.

Werman stated the following about working with Poison:

* It was hard, but they were great. You know, each one of them, they were good, good hard workers, good people.
* C.C. was very difficult, because he was too, he was going through a drug period.
* I recorded it digitally, it’s the only album I had ever done digitally, because I knew there was going to be lots and lots of punch ins, corrections.
* After we got through most of C.C’s guitar breaks, and fills, it was fine. It was a good album.
* I had 1, I think I had 1 guest musician, maybe 2, had a guy who came in and played harmonica for Bret.
* Actually Willie Nelson’s guitar, harmonica player (played the part)

When asked if he knew “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” was going to be a mega-hit, Werman replied: “Absolutely.”

Werman then compared it to previous songs he knew would be big hits, noting the Motley Crue smash “Girls, Girls, Girls” and “Cat Scratch Fever” by Ted Nugent.

“It was a very simple, ahh, country, kind of a country son. I thought. It was the only #1 song I ever had.” added Werman.
