Would the real Phil Lewis, please stand up?

Metal Sludge — The final concert of the Sonic Slam Tour has taken place over the weekend and the summer run for the 3 band package is done for now.

Fans of the 80’s have been enjoying the tour as it’s one of the more popular themed tours featuring headliner Tom Keifer of Cinderella, L.A. Guns and openers Faster Pussycat.

There is no doubting that the overwhelming majority of reviews have been positive and have given all of the bands praise, but not all fans were impressed and some seemed to be let down along the way.

No we’re not talking about when fans in Texas watched a Tracii Guns‘less band play their set as the founding guitarist sat on a toilet backstage to stay out of the heat.

And no we’re not talking about the fans in Daytona Beach Florida who were disappointed to attend the event only to be shorted as L.A. Guns did not perform that night due to reasons not fully revealed yet.

We’re referring to a tweet shared by Guns himself from a fan who shared a funny moment for sure as one fan left a weekend show after watching L.A. Guns but she seemed to feel something was missing.

The tweet reads as follows: “Funniest moment at #LAGuns show. As we are leaving, a woman approached us and said “they were great, too bad they are just a cover band” I said “No,that is the band. That was @TraciiGuns & #PhilLewis” She shakes her head, I know what Phil looks like and that’s not him. Smh”

Guns himself has shared the tweet with some laughing emojis.

It’s good to see the true core of this band having fun with all that comes their way… the good, the bad and the crazy.

L.A. Guns have been touring in support of their 2021 release “Checkered Past” on Frontiers Records.

The group are fronted by classic vocalist Phil Lewis, founder and lead guitarist Tracii Guns, Johnny Martin on bass, Ace Von Vixen (lead social media) and new comer Shawn Duncan (drums).
