Metal Sludge — Happy New Year to everyone, including all the fans out there who support bands, tours, live shows and of course this website.
Just in time for another bitter public tweet, we bring you the latest from Wolfgang Van Halen.
Was there a more insufferable prick than Wolfgang Van Hater in 2021?
We think not, and he’s off to a good start for 2022 as well.
After numerous angry exchanges with fans online over the last 16 months, to both his haters, and even what could be perceived as the die-hard Van Halen fans, it’s clear, that Wolfgang doesn’t give a F#@k what anyone thinks.
In a brand new Twitter exchange, the son of the late great Edward Van Halen continues to distribute bitter ramblings, rants and flame-wars with anyone who dare question him or suggest he jam one of Pop’s old tunes.
Today a fan named Rachel (@Chandelle90) Tweeted to Wolfgang writing: “Nice point. Although I gotta say, if I got a nice comment back from him, personally, that would make my freakin month. I just wish he would comment back to his fans sometimes, instead of only commenting to the haters. They don’t deserve the attention. Ya know?”
Well Rachel, your dream has come true, as Wolfgang replied.
“Also just saw this tweet of yours. No one deserves attention. For being a fan or otherwise. Just because I’ve never responded to YOU doesn’t mean I don’t respond to fans. Expecting things just because you’re a fan is just dumb. Nothing worse than an entitled fan. Oof.” — Wolfgang Van Halen
In looking back at Rachel’s tweet, it doesn’t appear that she was expecting anything.
But it’s clear she is a big fan, and seemed to imply if a reply happened, it would be a big deal for her.
Well, she did see Wolfgang’s reply and here is what she tweeted after the fact.
“I think I just sent a bomb of a comment. Hubs & I found that line re: “how fans telling him to ignore haters “bothers” him even more than the haters as plain disrespect toward his fans. I am actually so disappointed right now I won’t listen to the album (it’s norm on 24/7 on my car.” – Rachel
