VINCE NEIL TO LEAD CHICKEN DANCE
This is just too surreal for words.
The other day, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Vince Neil will be appearing at this year’s Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, claimed to be "the nation’s largest and most authentic Oktoberfest." But don’t expect to hear Vince singing "Same Old Situation" or "Girls Girls Girls." In fact, Vince won’t be singing at all.
Come to think of it, Vince ends up not singing at a good chunk of his own concerts, but that’s beside the point.
It appears that Vince Neil is slated to be one of the grand marshals at Cincinnati’s annual Oktoberfest, a job previously held by such A-list celebrities as Tony Orlando, Al Hirt, Weird Al Yankovic, Davy Jones, the San Diego Chicken, Prince Luitpold Von Bayern, and Verne Troyer, the guy who plays "Mini-Me." As grand marshal, one of Vince’s ceremonial duties will be to lead the crowd in what is widely known as "the world’s largest Chicken Dance." This event takes place next Sunday, September 19th. Why it’s called "Oktoberfest" when it’s being held in September is beyond us, but that’s when it’s happening.
Here’s the text of the original report.

Soccer and rock stars leading Chicken Dances
Oktoberfest Zinzinnati’s grand marshals are Gold and Bold. The Gold half is Heather Mitts, former Cincinnatian and gold medalist from the U.S. women’s soccer team. The Bold is Vince Neil, Motley Crue vocalist and soon-to-be-star of an MTV reality show.
Mitts, a St. Ursula grad, will lead the Chicken Dance at 4 p.m. Sept. 18 and is expected to stay for autographs and photos.
Neil will be seen in MTV’s The Remaking of Vince Neil, a reality show documenting his comeback attempts with the help of makeover specialists. He’ll lead the Chicken Dance at 4 p.m. Sept. 19.

Vince should feel pretty comfortable leading a bunch of drunks as they all make asses out of themselves. Vince does that anytime he takes a bunch of people to a strip club with him, so leading the world’s largest Chicken Dance shouldn’t be too big of a stretch.
It’s hard to visualize Vince flapping his arms like a chicken as an oompah band and kazoo orchestra play the Chicken Dance song. You Sludgeaholics in Cincy that aren’t flying out to our Metal Sludge Extravaganza in LA need to mark down that date. Someone needs to get this on video! Anyone who sends us a videotape of Vince doing the Chicken Dance will get much Sludge Luv and a small token of our appreciation.
Who needs Tommy, Nikki and Mick when you can have an oompah band, Lederhosen, and all the bratwurst you can eat!
Don’t forget, Vince Neil will lead the world’s largest Chicken Dance at Oktoberfest Zinzinnatti next Sunday, September 19th, at 4 p.m. Admission is free, so there’s no excuses! Now go get us that video!
