TROUBLE ON THE MÖTLEY TOUR!

"Mighty Mike" detained by authorities

By all accounts, the Mötley Crüe tour has gone smoothly since it kicked off in February. But something was bound to go awry sooner or later.

Here’s a press release we just got in:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MÖTLEY CRÜE ?RED, WHITE & CRÜE TOUR? HAS ITS FIRST CASUALTY

MÖTLEY CRÜE HAS A ?LITTLE? TROUBLE AT THE BORDER ? MIDGET DETAINED

(Grand Forks, ND, April 8, 2005) ?When you call a headlining world tour ?Red, White & Crue: Better Live Than Dead,? you?re asking for trouble, but so far things have gone smoothly for Mötley Crüe on the band?s first headlining tour in six years with its classic original line-up?Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee.

All that changed after the Winnipeg show as the band attempted to cross the Canadian-U.S. border for today?s show in Grand Forks, ND, at the Alerus Center. Mighty Mike, the band?s resident ?little person?, emcee and fire-breather was detained by authorities. The band was forced to enter the U.S. without Mike, who was being transported to Edmonton, where he was expected to remain for up to seven days before being allowed to return to the tour.

?This could set U.S.-Canadian relations back a couple of weeks,? said the Crüe?s Vince Neil. Mötley will be returning to Canada for shows in Montreal (April 24) and London, Ontario on April 26.

Added Tommy Lee. ?It?s no ?big? deal, hopefully Mighty Mike will grow from this experience. We hope he?ll be back with us in a ?little? while.

Mötley will be seeking the assistance of the local little people at the next tour dates until Mighty Mike can rejoin the tour.

The band?s current ?Red, White & Crüe? tour concludes May 1 in Fort Collins, CO, before resuming in July with the ?Carnival of Sins? leg, featuring Island?s Sum 41, Virgin Records? The Exies and J Records? Silvertide.

Mötley Crüe?s new album of the same name was recently certified platinum by the RIAA.

Well, at least it was just a tiny problem. (No pun intended.)

Rumors that DJ Ashba will be temporarily replacing Mighty Mike on the Motley tour cannot be confirmed or denied at this time.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this minor situation as it develops.
