Metal Sludge – While it’s never fun to report on the slow downfall of a once great artist, the story of Wes Scantlin from Puddle Of Mudd has taken a turn for the worse, yet again.

Puddle Of Mudd appeared at the Broken Spoke Saloon on Friday nite March 1st 2025 for the annual Daytona Bike Week, and unfortunately it did not go well.

Fans left in droves as the band played on while Scantlin struggled to stay focused and sing.

It appears that Scantlin was drinking before the show as he is pictured backstage with the band, with what appears to be a beer bottle in his hand and while signing a guitar there is a beer bottle right next to him.

Scantlin, 52, has had a tumultuous career and personal life dating back more than 20 years.

The Missouri native who now resides in California has had countless run-ins with the law, numerous arrests, and live show performances that have rivaled the worst ever on-stage meltdowns by any National Recording Artist.

Scantlin was interviewed earlier today (March 2nd) outside the venue by a patron who asked what happened last night, and the singer responded saying: “I suck, I suck, and I suck, but I was roofied, so… my old bass player Sean Sammon roofied me last night, so he can go F#@k his ass!”

Fans are commenting on the official Broken Spoke Saloon Facebook page describing last night’s show as follows….

“Wes just stumbled and rambled about fred durst on stage.” Hunter

“I’m so glad that was a free show. I’d be pissed if I spent my money to see that terrible show. We left after 4 songs.” Kerry

“The sound was awful singer was wasted not to mention drove there, parked, fought the crowd to not even be able to use my media passes/credentials to get pictures or videos!! I won’t be back again!” Daytona Live

“Looked like the singer walked off stage and left.” Josh

“I felt bad for the band and even from the back could see the annoyance on their faces. I felt bad for Wes, as I’m sure he thought he was killing it. I’ve been to plenty of shows and that one was definitely the worst.” Shawn

“I hope Wes is ok. I felt so bad watching him last night.” Heather

Another post from the ‘Broken Spoke Saloon‘ promoting the show from earlier in the day is also littered with dozens of comments from fans describing their disappointment in last night’s show.

According to the singer’s Wikipedia page, Scantlin has been arrested at least 15 times since 2002.

We have reached out to Broken Spoke Saloon, but as of press time we have yet to hear back.
